Friday night, chicken had been seasoned and sittin Friday night, chicken had been seasoned and sitting in refrigerator since the morning, and Nowruz came to mind so the Persian cucumbers became Mast-o-Khair. I shared an image of the dish on my condominium’s WhatsApp group, wishing the neighbors a peaceful Nowruz- I live in Tehrangeles, 90 percent of my neighbors are Iranian Jews who fled their homeland when the Mullahs took over - and apologizing for my lack of rose petals. Five minutes later the doorbell sounded and at the door was a neighbor bringing me rose petals … food as community is a fine and vital thing. #nowruz
